Open Monthly Meeting
Our "Open Monthly Meetings" are open to everyone: individuals living with a mental illness, family members, friends, providers, concerned citizens, etc.  You do not have to be a NAMI member to attend our meetings!

Open Monthly Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month.

The next meeting will be on held on Monday, August 11, 2014.  Joy Cipriano from the Hampton/Newport News Community Services Board will be answering your questions about housing!  Please e-mail any questions you may have ahead of time to Char Cate at: kindheart469@gmail.com.


It's that time of year again!  NAMI Walks Virginia 2014 will be held in Richmond on Saturday, October 18th, 2014.  To join our team ("Visionaries"), or to find out more information, visit the NAMI Walks webpage (click the text below):

Announcing a Family-to-Family class that will be starting on August 14th!  Family-to-Family is a FREE, 12 week education course for family members (or friends) of an individual who is living with a mental health condition.  It is taught by two trained teachers who have family members with a mental health condition, so they know what it's like to have "been there."

NAMI Hampton/Newport News is pleased to announce that we will be offering a NAMI Peer-to-Peer Recovery Education this fall!  The course will be held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-7:30, beginning on September 9th.

NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a 10 week recovery education course for adults who live with a mental health condition.  It is taught by two trained Mentors who are successfully living in recovery.

The mission of NAMI Hampton/Newport News is to improve the quality of life for persons affected with biologically based brain disorders through education, advocacy, and support.

We are located on the Hampton Roads Peninsula in Southeastern Virginia.
